The characters are quirky but too numerous. The humor is dry and appropriate for the setting - I enjoyed that. The romance is well crafted and there is heartbreaking sadness. I loved it almost all the way through, but towards the end it lost its way. The story is there, but the writing is not as well-polished and seems a little rushed. This could be one of those rare books where the movie version is better.

First time I have read a book by Rosalie Ham and I enjoyed it, it was easy to read and the ending 
was unexpected.

 I only read it because I liked the preview for the movie but I'm glad I did........
